Ingatherings (2011~ ) My work continues to evolve, and over the last several years I have been exploring the collection
of stories from the public, and sometimes asking them to actively participate in the creation of the
final work. The direct contact with the individual, hearing their voice, watching them formulate
and write their thoughts, seeing them ransack their personal memories and histories is not only
a lively and intimate moment but can also be vibrant and emotional. I want to convey the atmosphere
of this moment in my work with the juxtaposition of form, pattern and sound. It is my hope, that the
commonality of experience and one’s identity in globalized compound culture
will be realized by the viewer. |
